There was this spot in Old Forge area NY where I used to go snomobiling that the deer would poke through your saddle bags looking for food. I have pics of us holding granola bars in our mouths and the deer taking them. They would eat anything as well. I can remember feeding them Lays potato chips. The whole reason why you could always count on the deer being at that spot was it was a three way intersection where three different snomobile clubs would use as a turnaround for the groomers, they would stop at there and always dump feed for the area deer and soon enough they became accustomed to taking food from peoples hand. Ill find the pics and post em!
see now when that old man gets hungry all he has to do is snap their neck, no need to waste bullets. Or these deer will decide to eat him one day(like the grizzly guy). OR these deer will think all people are good and some jerk will try to catch one and break a leg or puncture a lung then they'll suffer.
Anyone ever been to Fripp Island, SC? The deer there are worse than stray dogs. Most of the low country of SC has large deer populations and the resort islands have large populations that are accustomed to people, but I've never seen anything like the deer at Fripp. When we first got there a few came out of the woods, and we thought Aww... how cute. By the end of the week we were spraying them with the hose to keep them from the picnic table while we were eating, they were the most brazen deer I have ever seen. And these were bucks! They were small and mangy looking and I can only assume they were malnurished or otherwise hard up for food. My brother-in-law and I joked about being able to simply wrestle one to the ground, or the look on the guards face if we left with a 12 point in velvet strapped to the roof of the car.
