SKB hard cases, anybody here use one?

I just purchased my new LMT MRP rifle and was searching locally for a nice case for it because I don't own anything but cheapies. I looked at several different cases and ended up getting the SKB 5009 double rifle case. I know it isn't a water-tight case like a Pelican or Storm, etc. but it seems like a decent case and still has a rubber seal. Does anyone have any bad or good experiences with these cases? Thanks!

Good cases, we sell them along with Pelican. SKB is best known in the music industry where lots of people use them for their instruments.

I own an LMT MRP rifle length and use the SKB case. I like the case and it is heavy but protective. I would consider getting something as a light case for when you need to move without being overwhelmingly noticed. I am also a musician among other things and find that blending the case in with my gear works very well. A few guitar and amp stickers go a long way from having to explain whats in the case.

I've used two SKB double rifle cases for a some years. They are solid and tough. I'd be suprised if they didn't make the cases we used for 81mm mortar tubes and Miles gear.

The plus side of their size and heft is they are unlikely to be descretely carried off at the airport, or anywhere else, and they are big enough that anything inside is deemed harmless by the masses.

I like mine just fine. It does a great job at collecting dust bunnies under my bed.

All of my guns go in Pelican cases now. :p
