Looks like a good product. Anyone have any real experince on this besides reading Larry Vicker's comment on how muzzle brakes is unneccesary on a .223 / 5.56mm weapon.

It is like having an A2 suppressor with one of the best muzzle brakes around. For the price, if you just want a pure flash suppressor, just get a Phantom or a Vortex. For the price, if you want a pure muzzle brake get a DNTC or MSTN QC brake. If money is not an issue and you want the best of both worlds, get the FSC556. If you don't like it, just send it back and they will give you a full refund.

I am patiently waiting for the FSC6.8 :D

I didn't like the test videos because it is much lighter outside in the second video or the camera settings are different. They probably shot that video first at dusk.

You can see the sky and tree line in the background.

Overall, looks nice though.

I have a Phantom, a KX3 and a couple of the best recoil & flash reducing devices... an AAC M4-2000 Mod 7 and an OPS Inc. 12th Model. I was looking at this FCS for a non-suppressed 16" Middy.

I have a FSC556 but haven't had a chance to put more than 20 rounds indoors (no noticed flash with XM193) through it, I think next week I'll be giving it a workout. And if I can get to Range 305 on a Sunday (hint, hint Quantico RSOs) I'll get some good pics of it while shooting it.

Alert: Newbie Question? What is the purpose of a muzzle brake and why would I need one in conjuncrion with a flash suppressor?

Comp/brakes reduce recoil and muzzle lift but they typically are flash enhancers (making more flash) combining a comp/brake with a flash suppressor is the best of both worlds.

As long as the FS or Comp is 22mm yes. The Gem-Tech HALO will mount on a FSC556 (the comp/FS) in the 11.5" in my pics. You must use either a peel washer or time the comp/FS without any washer (can't use a crush washer).

gotm4, thanks for editing the hotlinks out. i don't mind it at all if people put a text link to the actual writeup on the site or to the images (with my permission first), just don't hotlink the images directly so they appear in the thread.

here's the link to the writeup, username and password are both 'mm' to view images.

While not the greatest of pictures, this gives an accurate idea of how little flash (none) there was when doing day time shooting. I've not tried low light, so I can't comment on that yet.

Where are your pics? Okay is there a thread that explains the last part of your last sentence? Peel Washer? Crush Washer? Timing of Comp/FS? I know what a washer is, I just dont understand where these washer go or what they do in relationship to a rifle. If the explanation is to long just tell me where I mignt find an anaswer.

Stickman,
The more I see your rifle the more pennies I save. I am up to $1500 so in a few more weeks I should be able to get myself a decent rifle. If you want you can post more pics or just PM me some pics to make an old man happy:D

I was just browsing Bravocompanyusa and they had the LMT front sight for $49.

Darn, just checked. They don't have this brake but they have the Vltor brake/comp/FH for $57. I may order it...

Does your company sell complete rifles in your store? If so what manufacturers? I am looking to put together a rifle and would like your help in putting the rifle together.

It's been nearly 4 months, so I thought I'd bump this and see if people have any more current information or feedback on the FSC556.

My short impression are firing several hundrets of rds. through it mounted on a Steyr AUG-Z 16": in a shorter barreled AUG one finds muzzle blast & flash more disturbing than on the Ar15 system, because the face is nearer to the barrel end. So, as flash hiders are illegal here, I had high hopes when Primary Weapons introduced the FSC 556. And I can't say I am disappointed- hardly any muzzle raise on fast fired magazines (even tried it with a one hand grip), no disturbing blast and no blinding flash even with hot Hirtenberger military ammo. Can't get better than that!

i have a FSC on a 16" gun and my red dot doesn't move off the target when shooting, i have yet to shoot it at night but i love the comp part of it

The Archangel

I had it on my 16" middy and after one range session, I sold it. I just thought that the FCS was too damn loud. Maybe I didn't give it a fair shake. It did however do everything it claimed to do as far as muzzle rise and flash suppression. I guess it's just a matter of personal preference.

militarymoron

i really like it. everyone who's shot it has been extremely impressed with how little the rifle moves. another thing; no one standing to the side has mentioned the side blast on the FSC556. when i had the DNTC on my rifles, they always commented on it being loud.

Well since this thread has been bumped from the dead, I'll chime in on my experiences.

I ended up putting it on a 10.5" LMT and was a little scared about the blast being too much, but with my Peltors on, it didn't matter.

To make it short: I LOVE THE FSC556. Makes the recoil feel almost like .22LR and it definately gets you back on target for controlled pairs. I have not shot it at night so I can't comment on the flash reduction, but I am very happy with the product to date.

I'm running one on my XCR and have 600 rounds through it or more. The FSC combined with the adjustable gas system and my rifle is amazingly soft to shoot.

The blast is hardly noticeable to the shooter but even you are even with the muzzle it is worse than an A2 but not unbearable. I haven't had anyone shooting next to me complain yet. I've stood alongside others shooting my gun and it wasn't bad.

I am very pleased with the unit.

The adjusable gas softened my gun a lot but adding the FSC was still noticeable.

Anyone shot it at night yet?

Jeremy
02-12-2008, 12:12 AM
I shot it a few minutes before dark and nothing noticed from behind the gun. When looking at the gun from the side, you see a little spark inside the unit, but nothing outside. I didn't go down range so I can't comment what it looks like from that perspective.

SuicideHz

So are the guys that are finding a lot of blast using them on shorter barrels?

As far as orientation goes- the "fangs" that stick out should be on the bottom sticking up- like a bulldog's teeth stick up and out on the sides, right? Good analogy? :D

I dumped a few mags through one of these Saturday. To me it seemed to give less rise with a flat recoil. It wasn't mine and I'm not going to buy one.

I do own one of the DNTC comps that was on a used upper I bought in a 14.5" welded configuration. Amusingly the prior owner's 'smith pinned it 180deg off. Hasn't been a problem with the .22 conversion that lives in that one though ;)

I've got one on a 10.5 LMT and a 14.5 LMT. The flash is not noticible using M855. Blast is very noticible if shooting under overhead cover or if shooting through a barrier, like in 3 gun. Outside in the open, its not bad at all. Biggest benifit is when shooting rapidly. The FSC provides significant reduction in movement, allowing faster follow up shots on target.
