What finish do you recommend to apply over the NiB coating to achieve a matte or flat black appearance on exterior, non-bearing surfaces? I'm looking at Cerakote.

What finishes should be avoided?

Any quality finish such as cerakote will work well with nib.
making sure the weapon is very clean is key to having the finish adhere well.
