I bought 8 extractor spring kits with black inserts and crane o-rings from GR Tactical. The kit is a reliability enhancement package. I had two problems with this transaction.

1. It is near impossible to get the extra power springs, black insert, and crane o-ring in your bolt at one time. I called to ask about this and they said to leave the crane o ring out. That would be nice to know BEFORE I decided to buy these things. Whatever.

2. One of the black inserts was defective. To make a long story short, I have sent several emails and called to get a replacement. I thought it would be a no-brainer. They tell me that they we send a new one out and never do. They also have a "who cares" attitude.

It seems silly to lose a customer over a stupid black insert. I was planning to buy several items on their site. However, I think I will be making other plans.

It seems silly to get crapped out over a stupid black insert.

FYI, if you get a hose clamp, you know the type that requires a screwdriver to compress, it makes it easier to install the kit.

Everyone has a unique and deserved idea of what good customer service is. I wouldn't attempt to say that your interpretation of you interaction with G&R is incorrect, however, let me share a story about one of my recent transactions with Grant that is indicative of their normal customer service.

I placed an order quite awhile ago for mostly misc. AR related components and two separate white lights with their appropriate respective mounts. Grant was kind enough to shoot me an email within 24 hours telling me that the VLTOR mount I had requested and one of the Surefire tailcaps were on backorder, but that he would be happy to substitute for another item he had on hand for the same price (his loss).

I was out of the country for nearly two weeks when the items should've arrived at my home and upon my return I noticed I hadn't received the package or an emailed tracking number from G&R like I usually receive quickly after ordering. I emailed Grant about this and he deduced that the order had gone out to the wrong address. The next day Grant sent a new package to me for my entire order (except those darn Surefire tailcaps that are still backordered) and apologized for the inconvenience. Never once did he imply that he would do anything but make it right for me, the customer.

I think G&R Tactical has a deservedly good reputation for knwledge, sales, and customer service. Again, I'm sorry your experience was not a good one but to be fair I thought I should give a positive report.

1. This is correct. The 5 coil springs are so stiff that a Crane O-Ring is not needed and is why we advise not to install them for awhile.

2. We said we would send you an insert and we have. It went out snail mail so that is why you have not gotten it. We also NEVER exhibited a "who cares" attitude even though we are talking about a .50 part.

What seems silly to us is to start a thread like this on a 50 cent part that WAS delivered, but turned out to be damaged (so you say).
