Thats so you can have a different 'clip' of green tips for when the helmeted zombies are coming! ;)

Would be great to use as training Mags. with Dummy Rounds. Hard to mistake the Orange.

Wow! That's pretty cool!!!

I need to get some black ones to add to my stock pile.

An orange one or two would be great for the range (or the deer blind!!! hahaha!!!)

Those are really slick :D

I'm really liking these as a training mag. We shoot our carbine matches at night, and gear gets lost in the shadows all the time. It's the reason my G2s are yellow. These mags would certainly help. In fact, I'd be willing to speed up my Pmag purchase schedule (been waiting for a Ranger Plate option for them before I buy) and buy these right now. Anyone offering a 10 mag discount?:D

I got 11 of these in last week. They are my first Pmags as I was holding out for a ranger-plate solution for these mags previously. The orange for training and matches was just too much of a temptation to resist.

I like what I see. At first glance though I can see some potential fitment issues in tight mag pouches that are longer than the magwell portion of the mag, but this is more of a general Pmag issue than specific to the orange variety.

I'll get a chance to run a few a week from now at my monthly match. I'll update this thread with my impressions then.

Rob,

I know we're running the same Chest Rig, and FWIW...I haven't had any issues with PMAG's in mine.

I think the ORANGE Pmag is in honor of my avatar and long standing support of Magpul Industries.

I'm actually referring to the kydex pouch I wear on my support side for speed reloads. It's a little longer than a magwell so the "webs" get into the pouch.

Ah yes...This is correct. I have the same issue with my US Made Thermolds in a Blade Tech Kydex pouch.

Guess you need to paint a USGI "Day Glow". :)

I think you should request that the Masada be re-named the "Mk-1000". ;)

It does have a better ring to it.

Or perhaps the Mk-87?

It never hurts to try. Lumpy has his plates...I see no reason why you should not have a rifle named in your honor. :p

Ran a few of them last night. Actually seated easier with 30 rounds than my aluminum mags to with 28. Nice touch.

Anyone know what the minimum number of mags ordered would be for a custom color? I'm thinking 100 yellow mags just for me would be awfully damn cool. ;)

They are now back in stock at DSG, so I ordered a few.

Orange just happens to be my favorite color.

Ordered three also. Told my Lt. that I was going to use them as my duty mags HaHa. Wasn't to receptive to that! (Orange is the color of the university I work for lol)

DSG has a bunch in stock right now however these were developed with a certain agency in mind that requested training mags. They are testing right now and if all goes well DSG will be needing a large shipment from Magpul.

I shot some of the orange mags a couple weeks ago and as expected the color makes no difference, same MagPul quality as with everything else.

I ordered six today. I will say they are nice to deal with on the phone. They also love LEO's. ;)

At first I bought three of these as a novelty just because I am 100% sold on the PMAG product. Soon after receiving them I needed to squeeze in some range time which carried into the dark and I am now sold on the convenience of the orange mags as far as locating them on the range. A quick scan of the range with my flashlight and these mags stood out like a beacon.

I highly recommend these for any training purposes.

I can see the purpose of an Orange L-Plate/Ranger Plate(something removable), but for me, paying the money for a High Vis mag makes little sense-...Except I can see the point about helping your time in a 3 gun match.

I have never even noticed anyone spray paint a regular mag orange:confused:

I paint the bottom halves of some of my training/range mags with fluorescent highway marking paint, orange or that bright green. As noted, helps at night, in brush/weeds, and to distinguish a mag useful for training/rec. Wrapping with similarly colored tape works too.

I like them for two reasons, both related to the fact that they stand out better.
One reason is that our matches are at night. The range is extremely well lit, but I have lost many Surefires and other gear out there in the weeds. Not going to happen with these.
The other reason is training classes. When we get done with a drill or anything else that results in mags on the deck, it will be readily apparent which ones are mine (at least until everyone else buys the orange ones :p ).

I'll hold out for Hot Pink;)

I'm a fan if this idea:

You could also cut some reflective tape to fit in the little pockets of regular P-Mags...

I have Pmags in Black , Foliage and Flat Dark Earth they work well and the Yellow Magpul's attached to any of my mags would do the trick if I wanted a high Vis option.

Here is a link to a pretty good review on Pmags from a Soldier at the
Joint Rediness Training Center in Fort Polk Louisianna.

Check it out.

I like these because they feel and function (and are) just like the mags I now use normally - black PMAGs - but I can quickly identify that it is not a "regular" mag. Ideally I keep all of my mags loaded. I'm not a total paranoiac, nor am I overly worried about zombies. It's just one less thing to worry about when I go shooting. I don't have to load mags when I get to the range, and there's less packaging and waste to deal with since I don't have boxes of ammo around. With these orange PMAGs, I don't have to unload a mag when I want to safely practice some drills at home, or keep one unloaded for just such use, or use a crappy beat-up old mag for such things, and so on and so on. I only bought two, one for each of my rifles, and so far I've found them to be very useful. I suppose I could have bought some of those blue training mags, but then it wouldn't have the same feel as a PMAG. Also, the blue ones can't actually be used as mags like these can; and when the zombies do show up I'm going to need every mag I can get! :D
