View Full Version : Best way into a SBR Krinkov?
Hey guys,
I want to pick up a AK74SU. I want one with the short barrel and a barrel extension. Then, I want to file my SBR paperwork. Obviously, then I can enjoy the cheap ammo while I wait for big brother to tell me I can use a slightly shorter barrel. Anyway, I want the one that will be easiest to convert and add one of those Noveske/Krinkov trash can style muzzle brakes to.
Any tips?

If you can stand a 5.56mm or a 7.62x39mm you can buy one from Arsenal, Inc. All that needs be done is to have the barrel cut and crowned.
I really want a AK74. That way I can take advantage of the cheap ammo!:D

Give InRange a call and see what they have in stock.

I wish these were easier to come by, as it's the only AK I have much interest in owning. However, I don't know enough about AK's to try to build one myself, nor do I even know where to begin looking. I guess this is a sign I should start educating myself on the myriad ins and outs of AK's. Not that I need another family of weapons to obsess over every excruciatingly minute detail of... :)

I built my first krink on a Yugo M-92 kit through a trust. It is easily my favorite AK to shoot.

$650ish for Bulgarian kit (K-Var, Copes, etc)
$110 for NoDak Spud receiver
$200 for tax stamp
$400ish for build by InRange
No one currently offers a quick and easy chop version. The above is the best way currently. You could easily get the stamp in the time it takes to gather the parts and have it built.
Spooky
This Krink M92 was built by ORF and the fake suppressor on it was pinned in place where the spring loaded pin normally sits.
Only had to dremel into the "suppressor" to remove it, and then install the normal spring loaded pin and screw on the flash suppressor, no shortening or crowning of the barrel was needed.
You might call Todd at ORF and ask him about it.
