Aimpoint Question (CompC3 and ML2)

Looking to buy an optic for my flattop Armalite. I have a Matech BUIS (don't care to hear the negatives, it's working so far for me) and the standard front sight. I've owned an Eotech 552 and don't care for them, so I've narrowed it down to the Aimpoint ML2 and CompC3. The rifle is just for home defense, and 3 gun matches right now, but will be used as a duty weapon within the next year, my department issues Olympic Arms to patrol. My dad did 25 years on the same department and 15 of it on SWAT and they won't use that brand on SWAT, so I know what's going on there (LOW BIDDER!).

So what are the differences between the CompC3 and the ML2? What would I be better with?

Bottomline is that if you don't dive and don't use NVDs, get the CompC3 with a LaRue Mount.

Are the Comp C3 tubes as durable as the ML2/ML3 tubes? I kind of thought that was what the mil-spec bit on the M-series got you (as it was explained to me a while back).
