Nice. That pumpkin never stood a chance.

went out to sight in my XPS, and saw a whole squad of pumpkin slayers...they brought a truckload of them devilish squash, and commenced to making them into pie filling...one round at a time. They let a youngster about the age of the one in the picture shoot a relatively large revolver (too far to see the caliber) at one pumpkin from only a few feet away...he was wearing quite a bit of pumpkin guts after he pulled the trigger.

I never used tannerite before, is it more flash and smoke, or is there a bang as well?

There is a thunderous boom. 1 lb of it never ceases to amaze me. I blew up my whole wooden target stand with 1 two weekends back.

Videos don't do the deep boom justice.

I have a 2-1/2 lb jar that's going up against a big pumkin this weekend.

We put 1lb. of Tannerite on a metal folding chair last month; blew the shit apart. It made the metal on the seat fold inside out into flower petals.

These monkies blew up a 1 gal paint can full... just over the hill from us a few weeks back. Friggin sounded like an air liner crashed into the mountain.

Tannerite is great fun. I have taken down a couple old trees with a well-placed 1lb container. You can reduce a 30lb cinder block to sand with a 1 pounder too. The concussion is awesome!

I love it, getting them interested in the hobby early on.

Yeah... you blow up that stuff in the valley areas and you're like... oh shit! someone's going to call the authorities.

I've never shot a punkin. I have shot some watermellons. 20 years ago I went on vacation to Hatchbend Florida and they grow a lot of mellons in that area. It was a wet year and they had thousands and thousands of watermellons that were not worth the cost of picking. My wife and I used a thousand rounds over a week plinking watermellons from 50 yards out to 400 or so. Lots of fun.

That was before I got into black guns. We used a 30-06, a 243, a 22-250 and a 378 Weatherby magnum. A 378 will knock the shit out of a watermellon.

We put two pounds in a concrete pipe. Two pounds was a little too much...

Never thought of a pumpkin, I guess I know what I'm doing on Saturday!

I've never shot a punkin.

They blow up better if you cut a small hole in the top and fill them with water. I vaporized a small one once with a varmint bullet out of a 20 inch A2.

Where is a good place to get it ?

Some of the Big sportsmans stores have it. You can just go to tannerite.com and order it too.

Based on their weight, punkins have to be mostly air.

In my firsthand experience, a half pound of Tannerite would be plenty to obliterate a pumpkin. Why not take the other two pounds, break it into halves, and blow some other shit up?

My next "blow up" is going to be two pounds under a wild hog. Just got a new shipment of 20lbs.

Maybe you're right. It's a big pumkin.. but a 1 lb charge would probably be more than enough.

I almost can't believe how much fun shooting pumpkins are. Even at long distance the explosion is awesome, my son hopefully will have some to blow up later, he loved the .40 cal at water filled cups and the AR with gallon jugs, I think at 3 he is really wanting his own for christmas.

Ha! Our local firearms instructors have a fondness for Tannerite. At the end of my first carbine class during the summer, they had mannequin heads sitting on the ground at 50 yards. Told us to prone out and shoot between the eyes. Whoever got the best shot would be the winner. We went prone, sighted and shot ... Surprise! BOOM! Mannequin heads flying in pieces.

Last weekend I did another class with them. At the start of a moving drill, the first shot was from 50 yards at tannerite - nice. Then at the end of class, three tannerite targets 50 yards out spaced a couple feet apart (there were only 3 of us in the class). Our instructors gives us a brief background on synchronized shooting for sniper teams, and we practice until we're all nicely together. Then take aim at the tannerite. 5...4...3...2...1...BOOOOM! All three targets explode simultaneously. Nice way to end the class. :D
