If that barrel nut is setup the way it appears to be, with threaded holes all the way around it, I was just thinking someone should make one that way for mounting handguards to

I love my friend's V7, super light yet feels very solid in your hands. The tube is nice and easy to get a good grip on, just wish it was a tad longer though.

The purpose of this model was to slim down the profile and add minimal attachments as needed(3 adjustable picatinny sections included).

If rails are what's needed, then v1 -v5 would be the better choice.

Is that a 14.5" barrel with the 12" MRF? If so I hav been contemplating an upper just like that. More Pictures please?

I'm glad to see another in the migration towards tubular and modular handguards. more practical and comfortable for most shooters than quad rails.

I definitely love mine. I think that the DD MFR should definitely be a viable alternative to the Troy TRX Extreme. The only thing I wish the M4V7 had was a QD swivel slot in the rail.

Do u have a SP sling now?

If u absolutely have to have a 2 point, that Magpul RSA is a quick fix....

I run a Contour SP in the rear QD on mine now but earlier tonight, I got an email from Magpul that the MS3 is available so I ordered mine!

Very nice offering from Daniel Defense. I didn't even know they had this one out there.

Can somebody explain to me how this would compare with a TRX Extreme?

Weight?

Durability?

The MFR comes in at 12oz counting the barrel nut, so it's maybe 1-2 oz heavier than the 13in TRX Extreme. For that 1-2 oz the MFR is much for robust, especially in the way it mounts. I know myself and several other people have had trouble with rotating the TRX during long shooting sessions, shouldn't have that problem with the MFR.

What is a reasonable expectation of accuracy from gun like this? I am looking for a gun that could be used for PD and some infrequent varmint hunting and I would like something that will shoot into ~1moa with a magnified optic (I would like to use QD mounts and switch between the scope and a EOTech or Aimpoint for PD). Sorry for the dumb question, I am quite unfamiliar w/ AR15s.

Perfect. This is exactly what I was looking for...

Thread with Mr. Smith discussing his answer to the lack of sling swivel. I recently had him build up a 14.5 Noveske with a MFR and a similar sling setup to his, and it's a very slick solution.

Two more dumb questions...

1. Are these available in any length other than 12"?

I'd like to put one on a mid-length with a normal FSB, and I don't trust my hack-sawing skills to make my own 9" MRF.

2. There's some skepticism regarding the sturdiness of the attachment of these in the other thread — not like the many stories of Troy TRX Extremes coming loose, though.

Has anyone actually seen a MRF come loose? How?

Yep, this is my only gripe with my v7.

I have now run my gun in the post for about year and many thousand rd the rail is far in a way the nicest rail on the market of its kind.

I really like this upper. Looking around the web, I have found midway sells the v7, but are out of stock.

Where else can I look to find the V7 upper in stock?
