Grant has some for sale.

Anyone know what the "A" denotes?

If I remember right I think it means that the ammunition was manufactured outside the United States.

That's Winchester's Q3131A, no longer imported from IMI.

It's Saturday, so I'll take a SWAG (scientific wild-a** guess).

Given that the label shows that the ammo is loaded on stripper clips, whereas the standard M193 is not, perhaps the "A" denotes that it's loaded on clips?

Are we certain of that?

I ask because omb police supply is listing 3131a again. They show that their inventory may be a mix of 3131 and 3131a though.

I suppose it could be old stock from a distributor or something.

I guess head stamps would be the way to tell.

Anything 07 or maybe even 06 would indicate to me that it was still trickling into the country.

Hmmm.. I'm pretty sure that is after the ammo stopped being readily available.
