What are your thoughts on the usefulness of magnifiers with red-dots?

Specifically, do you recommend adding an Aimpoint x 3 Magnifier in a LaRue Pivot Mount to a carbine with an Aimpoint T1? Thanks.

I revisited these recently when filmIng a commercial piece for Aimpoint - I tried a magnifier early on and did not like it but this time around I found out part of it was my eyesight ; I have a slight stigmatism and it made the dot look a bit like a peanut on 3X

Once I figured that out, and knew how to use it, it was good to go

And from what I have seen the Larue flip mount is the way to go for the Aimpoint 3X magnifier - pretty slick

FYI; you will need to superglue the rubber eyepiece on the 3X as it comes off easily
