Hello

I have a RRA M4 mid length 16" rifle that I bought shortly after the ban sunset. It has a YHM "light" rail, Surefire M910, and Eotech 512 mounted on the RRA rear sight/riser. I researched then and it seemed that I was told to buy an A,B,C or sometimes R. Fast forward to today and I've never been happy with the 30 some odd pounds that the thing weighs. I've thought of getting the barrel contoured but it seems like the rifle may just be a collection of the heaviest items that I could have picked.

I've noticed that the PSA Patrol Rifle is $1100 now and I'm thinking that it may be time to sell the RRA and accessories off and buy the PSA. What do you guys think? Is the M4A1 PSA Barrel going to be much lighter than the Heavy RRA? If I go with the PSA it will probably end up with a MI FSB mount with a Surefire G2 and a barrel mounted side swivel mount for a Vickers sling.

I also have a Bushmaster that I recently got in a trade for a motorcycle. Do you think I may be better off selling both and buying a nicer DD or Colt? How much should the RRA with rail and Eotech bring?

Thanks

Take some time to check over at G&R Tactical's website (they're a site sponser)...Grant has 2 models of Colts for under $1000....( check out the 6720, that's a good starting point)At that price you just can't go wrong,The last time I saw new Colts going this cheap was before the AWB.. I would'nt hesistate to sell both the Bushmaster, and RRA, and accessories to fund one of these, with money left over, you may be able to buy a buis, extra mags, a nice rail, Aimpoint, ammo, possibly training. If it were me, I'd get one of the Colts, a buis (if it dosen't already come with one) some extra mags, and some training, Then apply what you learned at the classes when you go out to practice, and use that time to figure out what accessories you'd benefit from the most.. I've found that the K.I.S.S. princple applys here...

the 6720 is a lite rifle. sell the two you have and buy a colt. its a better weapon than a PSA. use the extra cash for ammo and training.

Sell what you have, and buy a Colt/BCM/DD.

PSA is too new to the marker to be considered a good option, in my opinion.

.

WHAT!!! Are you crazy...Keep the RRA...it is what the DEA uses!!!
Weren't those the claims RRA was making about the time you bought your gun?? :fie:

I agree that for the money a Colt is the best deal going. If you put enough spin on selling your RRA & BM, you should have plenty of money for a Colt, Aimpoint, Sling and some ammo. When you're ready, e-mail Grant and see what kind of package he can put together for you.

This is a great gun as is - Colt 6920 LINK (http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=6920)

But maybe it's just me...

As a confirmed DD whore, allow me depart from my usual 'Get a DDM4' to join the chorus and recommend selling both to get a Colt from Grant @ GRTactical.com. That price is amazing.

I had to go through 2 carbines to figure out what I like. I'm not a colt fanboy (I like to be different...dumb huh?) but I'd even snatch one of the 6920s up at that price if I needed another. I think most everyone on here has made good recommendations as for what you should do. If you like your BM keep it for a range toy. I would like to eventually get another ar15 just for shooting with irons (looking at a colt 6700 :secret: )
