Bit of a clunky looking bit of kit, but does the design make sense as a pistol?

Jesus that things gonna be loud!
Ugh, I guess my whole plan not to buy any new guns next year just went down the tubes. Definitely on my buy list.
YUK !
If this was a 7.5” 300blk it would way cooler. Not sure why FN always seems to just miss with stuff.
Should have done a 10.3 or 11.5” 556 and the 7.5” 300 BLK.

A few years ago, it would have been interesting- but now? How many piston/non-DI short-barrel/pistols are there? Even in Euroflavers your B&T, CZ? Not to mention PPC, that at 7.5inch isn’t that far off?
Perfect for a suppressor and if you have to shoot 556. 300BLk with a suppressor- even better.
And I bet it aint cheap…
If they do not sell the stock pictured below, then it's pointless.

I think the 10" barrel version would be better for the cartridge.

10” absolutely would’ve made more sense in the 5.56, and the scar scw/15p receiver is shorter than the 16 so throwing a 10” barrel on it will look silly, if it’s even compatible (which I guess it’s not) and as someone who spent an extra grand on getting a 10” barrel to sbr their 16s, I would’ve LOVED a 10” pistol option from the get go.
That being said I kinda want
While I said that it's pointless, that won't preclude me from buying one. I'll just be a lot more motivated if I can get that stock. I'll probably just wait a while to see how this pans out. I waited until this year to get a SCAR-L, so what's a few more years of waiting?
Anyone spent time behind the CZ Bren 2 with 8.2" barrel? Seems very similar to this, but probably a lot less money than FN will charge for this.

I have the 11" Bren in 7.62x39. The ergonomics are great and it's light, but it's not 100% reliable. CZ has been very slow to fix the issues and offer parts.
I wasn't talking about the full size SCAR tho. I was talking about this SCAR pistol.
Exactly, it has a pic adapter on the back, several stock and brace options for that. Including the Maxim Defense brace that is very similar to what Bret showed https://www.maximdefense.com/product...ny-rail-stock/
As a SCAR lover, I am disappointed by this offer. It should have a > 10 inch barrel in 5.56.
A 7.5 inch 300 black out would have been the bomb.
Agree that it is pointless without the cool collapsible stock, but hopefully MGW gets them.
Well I guess bonded 5.56 might work from a barrel this short:

Arms Unlimited has the SCAR-SC on their website.

Does anyone know if this is a real factory SBR or if it's something that Arms Unlimited put together? They've been known to put things together, but they also are known for getting unique stuff.
Still struggle to justify pricing over the $1,250 8” Bren 2. It looks like the cheapest 15P to go on Gunbroker was $2,300.
There's a $200 rebate on it now. I went ahead and bought one from Defense Depot. After the rebate and transfer, it will be under $2,500. It will be pretty worthless as a pistol, but I'll SBR it.
Any stock that will attach to the vertical rail can be used. I want the factory stock, but it has limited availability. It seems like FN doesn't like money. Arms Unlimited had it in stock at one point.

As of the moment that I'm typing this, Arms Unlimited has the SCAR-SC stock in stock. I got the back in stock email and ordered one. :) They did raise the price $100 though. :(
Edit: They were gone in 10 minutes.
Good grief. I’d just get an adapter and ACR type stock and save $200 or more off that ugly thing.
And you'd probably have an overall more functional rifle. However, my goal is to set mine up like the "real" thing (sadly without the FA capability).
So many always try to justify why this doesn’t make sense. It’s a great truck gun where range is short. Get a folding pistol brace for it and use gold dots. Secondly, it’s freaking cool AF. We buy guns for cool factor. It’s got that. I just picked up and MCX Spear 9 inch in 556. Suppress it and put a brace on. Great truck or HD gun. The baby scar is awesome. People stop finding reasons to not buy guns and buy them.
If they ever come out with a 10" barrel version that takes a SCAR buttstock, I'd be in.
They do sell a 10.5 inch barrel. They are around so you can get one. I’m still waiting for wickedwillis to support what he said about the scar 15p keyholing. I can’t find a thing on it. I’m starting to think he was telling untruths to justify his hate for the weapon. That’s not good. Hopefully he will post some proof of this gun not stabilizing Rounds and keyholing. We shall see
Why would you buy this over the new sig offerings? The Sigs are smaller and more compact. Sig will have parts; Sig will warranty if there is an issue; Sig will not void your warranty if you use a suppressor. I am by no means a Sig fanboy, but I'm done with FN and their bullshit.
I personally have nothing against buying both, but I'm turned off by Sig's business practices. They change designs every five minutes, use their customers to test their designs and stop offering parts. If you buy a firearm based on customer support, neither is a good option.
