I had an AK malfunction once where the bullet nosedived in that exact spot and chipped off a part about that same size.

When I was a lot younger and a little bit dumber I couldn't get the pin out of my AK so I used a dremel on my trunion.. not sure what or if i was thinking. Luckily I dont have pictures of that abomination.
My humble submission.
Been searching for a FSB type rail that I liked for one of my Mid length guns. Nothing on the market. My solution. Make my own out of a Noveske NSR.
Still need to smooth out the edges and then will Ceracoat the entire thing.
At least I didn't use a dremel....

Nice, looks like you did a good job to get what you wanted.
Be interested in seeing a full rifle shot to see what it looks like.
I thought this thread was stuff people were supposed to be ashamed of? Doesn't sound like you're too ashamed, you even got a compliment. Lol

Here is one for the "you can't make this shit up" category.

I'm surprised he didn't just throw the whole gun in. Frame and everything.

There was a run of Lipsey's exclusive G19 and G17s a few years ago with FDE frames and matching cerakoted FDE slides -- much like the Vickers guns now but not RTF2. When they arrived each of the guns had the worst trigger pulls any of us had ever felt on a Glock and when we disassembled the slides to figure out what was up the striker channel sleeve came out with the firing pins warped and elongated like that. It didn't have any drips coming off of it like in the picture but it was ripple-y (if that makes sense.)
I saw a USP that was tossed in the oven once. According to what I was told as I was looking as the poor gun, it had been stored in the oven, yes, stored, loaded, in case a gun was needed, and well they forgot it was in there and turned the oven on, didn't remember it was there until it fired a round off.
I used to have pictures of it, but I have no idea if I still have them. Had some real nice griddle indentations on the one side.
