This might be exactly what I'm looking for. I was going to try the foursevens, but this may be a much better fit. Hopefully comes in around 100$

I had great luck with my gen 1 APL. I've been carrying it concealed on my 19/17 and M&P since they first came out with no issues. I'm interested in the compact model but if the full size APL fits the same holsters as older models I will certainly buy one for concealed carry on my 19 and 17. They might have a real winner if the beam profile is similar to the Gen1/2 models and is actually twice as bright.
Fingers crossed. Im having a hard time finding out when theyll be available
That would be perfect.
I cant find anyone with a preorder listing so i guess ill just be patient
Also carrying the Gen 2 on my G19 in an IWB holster and loving it. I am excited to grab the Gen 3 400 lumen model since I am already invested in holsters. The compact does look like the heat if you aren't carrying a light or looking to go more compact. Really loving all the new options for lights becoming available.
The difference in compact vs full size look to be about 5/8 inch and for double the lumens I could certainly live with that extra length. Plus they fit almost flush to the end of a 17 so there is that as well. I do hope the full size uses the same body with a brighter head as I have the holsters for it as well.

Has anybody seen these in the wild yet?

Optics Planet lists them, predicted shipping in 10-15 days at this point.
Inforce mentions that the mount is now made from aluminum instead of plastic, to solve the cracking problems of previous generations. But it's unclear to me whether that's included in the APL compact model or only the full size APL.
Non glock apl compact should be released this summer.
There were some serious improvements that needed to be made. I'm glad they are on the right track.
Just got off a chat session with Optics Planet. They have "plenty" in stock, and I got one for $97 and change by asking for a discount (-15%).
I bet it doesn't fit the HK45c. Of course, that is more of an indictment of HK than light manufacturers.
Email in with Optics Planet to see if they offer a 1st responder discount. Sounds like they do. $97 sounds good
Besides price, what's the advantage of this over a surefire xc1?
The xc1 has a very common battery (AAA) while the APL compact has a rare one (cr2). They are both listed at 200 lumens and 1.5 hr run time and both fit nicely on a g19.
I think the two immediate advantages would be better switching and a brighter beam, and it will hopefully turn out to be more durable.
The XC1 switching was awful and the main reason I got rid of mine. The APL switches in the gen 2 full size light are much easier for me to use, and I can enable/disable constant on with one hand. Both the gen 3 and compact will use the same switches although the compact may feel a bit different.
Both lights have the same amount of lumens, but there are other factors that affect the real life performance of a beam. I believe Inforce claims the APL compact seem twice as bright as the XC1. I haven't seen one in person so I can't verify that, but I considered the XC1 to be on the very bottom of acceptable for a weapon light.
The XC1 also seemed to have a lot of durability issues. Nobody really knows how durable the APL compact will be at this point, but it seems that Inforce has made a lot of changes with their recent product line to make them more durable. The gen 2 WML line seems to have fixed a lot of the shortcomings of their previous generation, and it appears they've applied that knowledge to the new pistol lights as well.
That being said, the weird battery for the compact is definitely a disadvantage. That combined with the extra power of the full size gen 3 APL for not much extra size has me leaning that direction.
If I can't carry that comfortably for some reason I'll be going with the compact over another XC1 unless it proves to be unreliable.

Who is making a good kydex IWB holster for this? Might have to send one out to your holster maker of choice until they're in stock all over the place
I like the APL light.
I am not a fan of the brightest possible light at the cutting edge of development though, so I am OK with lower lumens than some. I am also a user of products that still work until they no longer work.
There seems to be a sizable portion of the WML market that is. It makes me wonder if they ever used a light that bright in shooting real bullets in real darkness in little rooms.
I am a little po'd about having to wait for the non Glock compact.
That's a sharp looking light! I wonder if it would attach to a regular 1913 rail?
FYI, the new full size APL's and APLc are now officially listed on Inforce's web site:
http://inforce-mil.com/products/pistol-lights/apl/
Full size APL, black universal model, now shows as "in stock" at Optics Planet.
Anybody know if the new Gen3 will fit into holsters made for the Gen2?
FYI Priority 1 Holsters makes rigs for both lights already.
I have an IWB from them for mine.

Any new reviews of the APLc?
Seriously? How hard is it to search youtube?
What am I missing here?

I was speaking directly to Mr gunsngear. I really don't search gun and gear reviews on YouTube because of the low signal to noise ratio. Everybody that owns a smartphone and a gun thinks that they ought to tell the world what they think, and 95% of them are simpletons. So I basically wait for one of the 3-4 that I sub to post a vid about new kit. Idk I'm picky when it comes to opinions. That first vid you posted: he did a good job though
Hey guys, thinking about picking up a compact model. Has anyone tried one on a Glock 30S by chance, or have maybe seen a photo? I checked Google Images, but did not see any. I would assume it would likely fit flush on the 30S as well because it is almost the same length as the Glock 19? Thanks in advance to anyone that has tried it.
Haven't tried that, but I agree with you, they are similarly sized weapons. Shouldn't be an issue.
Update on mine: it's awesome. Fired 400 or so rounds with it attached: handles recoil fine. I haven't Frozen it or run it over with a truck or anything dumb like that, but, it seems to be durable enough for most users. Got my multiholsters custom kydex for this setup in the mail today: it too, is awesome.
Thanks for replying Mozart. I have an update as well, thanks for the reminder. I tried it on the Glock 30S and it fit nicely. With similar dimensions as the Glock 19, it locked in place and handled perfectly. However, the Glock 19 dust cover is slightly longer than the Glock 30, so the front of the light does protrude past the barrel just slightly and does not line up perfectly to it like it does on the Glock 19. It is hardly noticeable though and functions perfectly.
