We all know the SIG USA made 556 sucks for many reasons.
Well what would happen if Swiss Arms decided to make a 55x carbine that took AR15 mags, and had an ambi mag release. Wouldn't that kick ass!!!

I'd still rather have swiss mags and the stamped lower.
I don't see how this is 922r compliant with just a new lower, so it would be a SBR dealer sample.
I had that same rifle in my hands this weekend :D It`s from the IWA in Nürnberg.
I kinda prefer the look of the standard Sig 55X rifles, but if this is what they have to do to get them into the USA AND they take AR magazines, I´d say that´s a pretty interesting rifle ;)
PS: I also met Rob Leatham at the IWA and bothered him for an autograph. He told me he was going to the local SEK (SWAT) to teach some firearms training after the IWA.
If it's made by the NH group, then no, absolutely no interest...
I'd buy one of those in a heartbeat.

Wholly cow-nice! It's like a real Swiss 556 classic lower. If only somebody had made this a couple of years ago and it cost a lot less...oh wait.;)
What good is it if they are just copying SigUSA? Won't it be tainted by then? What makes this better than a 556? Looks like Vaporware to me.

2. Ambi mag release
3. Rear "tang" of the trigger guard has been chamfered so as to make it ergonomically compatible with the standard Swiss pistol grip
4. Use of standard Swiss push-button front and rear takedown pins
I suspect SAN/SwissArms used the 556 Classic lower as the basis for their -US line. Whether it will be this way in production is unclear. Interesting nonetheless.
It has an aluminum lower that takes an AR type magazine, they are Swiss SA and you can get them in Canada now:

Any gun that has sold 50,000+ units is going to have some units with issues (the Swiss guns included) but much of what you're posting isn't related to the lowers.

You stated people weren't having problems, but they are.
Now you state that many of those problems aren't related to the lower, but they could easily be related to the lower. I think a lot of the issues come from trying to adapt the AR magazine to the design and the related changes to the lower.
And finally nobody is having problems with Swiss guns to anywhere near the same degree. It just isn't happening. You keep bringing this up and I don't know why, you don't own a single Swiss gun, you don't seem to know anyone who does and you don't live in Switzerland.
And more importantly you aren't bringing cited examples. I post regularly on Sig Forums (where almost nobody owns Swiss rifles) and on Swiss Rifles.com where most people own Swiss rifles and the reported failures just aren't there.
So it seems to me you are talking about the occasional "anomaly" that can be produced by anyone. And while I have yet to see one, I accept the premise that it could happen even at SIG. But at the same time you are also trying to suggest all the complaints related to the 556 are the same kind of "anomaly" related to US SIG. The problem is the instance of reported issues and failures are much greater than that occasional "anomaly."
Now that doesn't mean all US SIGs are bad and people on this forum have tried to get that point across to you over and over and over again. But the fact of the matter is they are in no way even close to the standard of the Swiss SIG, another point people have tried to get across to you over and over and over again. it very much is like me insisting DPMS is just as good (maybe even better than Colt) simply because I happened to buy one that was not problematic and exhibited acceptable accuracy.

I think it probably has more to do with the fact that Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft builds guns for a living and, wanting to keep living they want to continue building guns. I really doubt they share your hatred for SIG Sauer.Quote:
