Best repair & maintenance manual?

I'm trying to tutor the GF to do intermediate parts replacement on M4's.

We prefer "old school" (hard copy) manuals.

I've been using the Marine Corps TM and the little M16 comic book, but I want a more updated M4 manual.

And most importantly....it has to have lotsa pidgers. :blink::lol:

Is there anything like that being published on paper?

I have found "Gunsmithing the AR-15 vol 1 & 2" By Patrick Sweeney to be the most valued resource for a Hard Copy manual. Lots of pictures too. Goes into detail on everything even zeroing the weapon. I think I found them on Amazon (two books).

Print them and put in a nice binder of your own choosing . . .

Hey Doc, I'm guessing the GF doesn't frequent M4C does she....LOL "lotsa pidgers...?" Oh I bet that would get you in trouble.

I get it... my wife refers to my M4C buds as my "friends from the internet gun chat thingy". Almost like it's a dating site. LOL.
But good on you for getting her up to speed on some weapon maintenance.

I'm going to do a rehab tutorial with her in the coming weeks. Replacing: bolt rings, extractor spring, and action spring. I'm wanting a good, color, illustrated manual to open to the page while I'm showing her so that she can do it herself in case I'm not around or incapacitated.

Ever consider making a manual yourself?

Take the pics, go to Staples and have them print them on good stock and laminate them. Sure there would be cost, but if you do it good heck you may be able to sell a few. I might buy one for my kid to help you offset cost. Just a thought. Staples can take pics off an SD card and I believe you can even upload them to their website if for example you took them with with a phone with a high resolution camera like the Samsung or iPhone 7.
