Well, I have to admit, it happened to me once and the round wasnt loaded backwards. At one time I had a Kimber TLE stainless 1911 (notice I said HAD) . Firing it at my PD range and had a failure to eject, basically a horizontal stovepipe. I tapped, racked, and some how the next round came out of the mag, flipped and chambered. Lodged it in there pretty good. If it hadnt happened to me I wouldnt have believed it either.
I was thinking of something similar with weak mag springs I've encountered, which are generally in older mags that aren't tight to begin with. Highly unlikely, but I can see how it might happen. Granted, this was a newer gun, but a bad mag spring could allow for it to happen.
But they come with life time warranty so they must be good. :fie:
