Do you have plans for reducing or eliminating traffic to your AO in the event of SHTF? For example, placing logs across the road or disassembling a bridge.

You can do something as simple as dropping a few trees across the road at a choke point but it also limits your escape routes should you need to BUG out from a threat coming from another direction.
Claymores and a few .50 cals........just joking. :jester:
I have thought about this and I think one of the best lo-viz ways would be to use "road stars" on a chain. Easy to make and easy to transport. You can also deploy them fast and it does not have to be a permeate item in the road.
I also found this link:

edited to fix link.
Felling trees would be a very good way to stop them, the link to survivalblog had some very good recommendations too.
Maybe making HESCO's could work, quick and dirty solution.
lucky for me, there are 2 county bridges on my road, one 100ft from my drive way, and the other about a 1/4 mile up the road. Both are just big ass culvert pipe bridges that can be brought down easily. Then we have 2 private bridges across on our property at different spots across a fairly wide and deep creek bed that we could take down as well. That would keep 90% of the trouble out.
I have the trees all picked out but that dose not stop anyone from comming on foot
Concertina wire and a suppressed rifle.
Deadfalls built into your barriers, funnel the approaching baddies' via tripwires and heavy vegetation, etc.
Just stopping vehicle approach will likely ward off the majority of threats. Some concertina wire will trim away another chunk of them. further fortification will only enhance your chances of being left alone.
There are some interesting articles/guides out there about "Defensive Landscaping". The link below is a bit of an overview but if you look there's more detailed information out there.

*Despite being affiliated with a zombie site which I have never been to so I can't judge, it's actually written for property defense in general and not geared toward keeping the living dead out of your yard :)
I guess that is another name. These here:

Get some links of chain and some quick links and you can customize to the area that you want. It is east to employ and it can be moved around. All together it will cost about $100 for several good sections. You can either stake them down or secure them to a tree/ pole.
My plan is a pissed off Postal Worker with an AK behind a stock gate across the road.
Blocking a road is a lot like locking up a building. The (b)locks are mainly a deterrent meant to slow down casual bad guys.
While road stars are awesome, I'd think twice before flattening all 4 tires on some random BG's vehicle. Especially if it were near my home. I'd be much more inclined to drop a few strategic tree trunks, or even round up some orange cones and barrels to make it look official in a sort of road construction way.
Seriously. Throw up a big old DOT "ROAD CLOSED AHEAD" sign and most people would turn back without thinking twice.
If you put up a bunch of ninja shit instead, somebody might guess there's a reason why the road is closed in such a high speed fashion.
Do you really want vehicles stopping in and around your home in that type of situation due to a "road blockage".... unless its a cul-de-sac or a gated type community with only 1 or 2 ways in and out, I would rather just keep traffic moving without alerting them to my position.
I can understand bridge disablement to keep large amounts of traffic at bay, but I think it would be better to plant strategic road blocks a few miles or more away possibly at larger intersections, as if that road is entirely closed... however I would do this in the utmost "secretive" manner, as in; bust open some type of water line to flood the road way or cave it in somewhere if possible (maybe taking out a storm drain or 2), anything to make it look like it is legitimately closed by the powers that be. If its just a sign or a log in the way... I'm more than sure a few gomers are gonna figure something ain't right and come 'a lookin'.... just my .02
I pictured it more for people in rural areas blocking private driveways/roads. I agree if your on anything other then a private road type situation probably not good to draw attention to your postion with fortress type blockages. Although if you could make it look natural I think it's worth the trouble.
Nevermind - I see this is a permanent semi/permanent roadblock discouragement thread.
Some steel fence post pickets and a little bit of spot welding can go along way.

Just curious, has anyone seriously done "home landscaping" with HESCO's?
