DPMS High Rail free float handguard rec: want something roundish

I do a ton of offhand shooting and I prefer the rounded-ish style handguard et al the M16. My 308 came with way too long for my use at 15" it could be as short as 10.5 and still cover up the low pro gas block. I don't hang much on my handguard and don't need much rail space just a small section to put a swivel stud adapter or pic rail section for QR swivel mount on the first part of the handguard.

I really like this LaRue handguard...something like this appeals to me even though it has some pic rail on top.

I have the Centurion Arms 12" .308 CMR handguard on a .308 Aero M5 build and it has been great for me. I put a BCM lo-pro gas block under it and it fit just barely, Centurion suggests you use their gas block. The Centurion Arms CMR is my suggestion, seems like it fits most of your criteria.

Older thread, but FWIW, Hogue makes one as does Rock River Arms (though you might want to contact them to check on compatibility)
