Is this a good deal for an 11.5 pistol/SBR setup?

If I got the pistol version I would get the stamp to SBR it, or would it just be smarter to buy the complete built SBR?
I figure if I got the pistol version, I would have to replace the buffer tube, get a stock and stamp which would probably be about the same price as the SBR. I kind of wish the SBR version came with a regular BCG, because I would prefer that over NP3.

I am kind of a noob when it comes to AR SBRs, would you guys consider this a ''tier1'' gun for the money, or are there better cost effective options out there? I would prefer factory built guns over completely building one myself.

ETA this would be suppressed 99% of the time, is this setup a good suppressor host? I'm not sure what the gp size is, and I don't want to install an adjustable gas block.

The advantage to the pistol is that you would be able to shoot it while waiting for your stamp; the SBR would be in lockup until your stamp came through.

I think at the end of the day the things you would probably want to add to the pistol that are included with the SBR: 1) sights; 2) ambi-safety; 3) ambi-charging handle; 4) stock would end up making them comparably priced.

So, I'd say that your decision rests on whether you want to wait to get a built SBR out of NFA jail, or shoot an AR pistol until you get your stamp, then slip a stock on it.

I think build quality-wise you would be satisfied, from what they advertise they are not slammed together by some assembly line worker getting paid piece rate, rather they are individually built.

I'm sure IG will be able to tell you the port size.

We can swap out the NP3 for standard MILSPEC BCG if that's what you really want. Just call the shop.

I would get the pistol and get to shooting right away. It can take eight weeks for the approval to transfer an SBR to your FFL to go through.

I can't think of any reason to not get the NP3 BCG.

I wasn't aware of their pistol package. Reading through the specs, it looks interesting. For what they are putting into this pistol, the pricing is about where I would expect it to be.

If you have the patience to wait 8 weeks, then I'd get the SBR and sit back. Personally, I do not have the patience, so I would get the pistol and then apply for the tax stamp. I'd spend the 8 week waiting period shooting my pistol. Once the stamp came in, sell off the pistol buffer tube and brace to help offset some of the cost of the stock.

Or buy a spare lower and slap the pistol tube and brace on it. Then add the lpk and trigger. Then you got an sbr and a pistol.

Win win.

That's eight weeks waiting for the approval to have it sent to your FFL. THEN you fill out your paperwork and start the wait for the stamp. I found this out the hard way! I'm not sorry I did out that way, the SBR I got has been terrific. But I'm glad I got the braced pistol first to ease the wait

If I needed another I would hop on that Sionics "Patrol Pistol Three-E" for $1,100. The Magpul Mbus pro sights are a nice touch for the price.
