I'd say no. While it may provide barrel rigidity that's comparable to a heavy barrel due to the triangular profile, it's probably more comparable to a mid-contour in overall dimensions due to the flats. You'd have to get the exact external dimensions from Remington and use math to extract what barrel diameter it would compare to if round though.
