Looks like the dude on the right needs to watch Val Kilmer's reload from Heat a few times.
Personally, I think it's a more important date than July 4th. It's where the rubber hit the road so to speak.
I think of it as the Second Amendment protects our first right, the right to exist. The right to think and say what you want is a death sentence if you don't have the right to defend yourself.
