I've been putting this up on other forums I frequent, but CDNN has a sale on the Microtech MSAR STG-556 for $1K. Just got it in an email, prices good the 19th.

Thanks for the heads up. I found the notification in my spam folder. A good friend has been wanting one of these. I am going to let him know about this deal.
Hmmm, I see a trend starting here. Rifles across the board are coming down in price. Guess the dealers don't want to have to pay property tax on excess inventory at year's end. Win, win for us the consumer...
Jerry's Sport Center (wholesaler -- must have FFL to buy) also has them for about a grand for the next few days. $995.95
Wish they were the E4 generation for that price.
MadDog :(
I haven't a clue as to what generation, and I don't know much about the Microtechs.
Here's the blurb in the email, I have not called CDNN or downloaded their latest catalog.
MSAR
MicroTec STG-556 · 223 · 16" Barrel · Black · 9" Rail · 1-10rd Mag
NO OPTIC · New · $400 BELOW COST!
#MSAR2001RRH16 $999.99 + FREE SHIPPING!
Aw man, I wish I had the funds! :(
Wow, I paid around $1500 for mine last year. Can't see how you can lose by getting one.
Same here. I don't mind seeing the prices drop to 2/3 of what I paid, makes it more affordable & tempting to those who don't have one yet! :D

The four STG's in my gunsafe; one I gave to my son (the black one), one I gave to my best friend (cop) after our carbine classes last June and two are still mine:

Tomac: Does the tulip flash hider come off easilly? I want to get an E4 generation but wanted to also use my suppressor on it. Do you know if the barrel threads are 12/x28? If not do you know if MSAR makes thread adapters?
MadDog
Is the E4 replacing the STG design that uses the MSAR or AUG mags, or is MSAR making both types? Rather go with a platform that uses AUG (or even the MSAR) magazines, but can't buy for a few months.
I believe the E4 is replacing the STG but they share most parts and Dave has mentioned that they will continue to support the original STG w/mags and such. Btw, I, too, prefer the MSAR mags, especially the 42rd mag. They've been rugged & reliable w/40% more ammo (so fewer reloads) and I find the extra length to make manipulation easier when grasping the mag w/o having to use Magpuls or Ranger Plates.

I's curious what the price for the upcoming MSAR 9mm/pistol caliber carbines will be. These carbines appear to still be in development, and I dont know when we will see them.
With the STG selling for $995, It seems the pistol caliber carbines would be lower.
The MCS carbine will be right around $1000. It shares a few parts with the STG like the hammer pack and top rail, but everything else is new molds and new tooling.
