Because JPmuscle is a mean angry 60 year old man who lost his shins in the Big One.
He chased me off his, admittedly well kept , lawn for minor stuff like helping myself to his change jar and going out with his daughter. He wheels around in his wheelchair with two 1911s and has a house full of Garands with bayonets pre-affixed.
He just sits around drinking PBR, randomly yelling "KILL!", and keeps a KABAR taped to what remains of his shins.
That's why......hippie

In defense of people mispronouncing names and terms, I can relate. When you get most of your info from text instead of verbally, and/or are self taught, sometimes it can be hard to know what the correct pronunciation is. Especially on proper names, so go easy on us if we slip up in mixed company. I'm sure glad I read this thread though, if not for any other reason other than to know I'll never mis-pronounce Hornady. Geissele I can say correctly because I've watched some YouTube videos where people say it, but I have to check my spelling every time I write it. There are others, ofc.
I do hate it when people claim that the "AR" in AR-15 stands for "assault rifle", and I hate when people refer to them as such. MSR is kinda funny and a little too politically correct for me, but at least it's better than assault rifle, machine gun, automatic rifle, or any other misnomer.
I also think the word "tactical" is overused by companies marketing/advertising products and gizmos.
I also agree that "operator" is a term that should be reserved for the very select few that actually walk the walk. I know a few of those guys, but not many, and I don't think they'd claim the title today, but only as a part of their past.
Not AR specific or related, but the gun derogatory expression I despise the most is "Saturday Night Special". A lot of people don't know its origin or what the original full term is. I had it explained to me as a young child. It's a hateful racial expression.
