Just shot my 3/8" AR500 today with my M44 using 148gr Bulgarian surplus at 100 yards, didnt do a thing. Did less then .223 FMJ, which is basically nothing.

I looked around awhile before I released my targets and am confident I have one of the best values on the market when it comes to steel targets. I specifically tried to deal with the shipping issue and think it was solved very reasonably.
Most of my rifle target sales have been local and they've just about cleaned me out. I have a few left before my next steel order comes in in the next few weeks.
Let me know that your an m4carbine.net member and I'll knock 10% off of the target price. Go to my web site and select "Rifle Targets" on the right side.
Your target is exactly what I need, your shipping solution is very well thought out and a great benefit to your targets...I suggest others go to the DVC website and watch the rifle targets clip.
I'm strongly considering picking up a 8" model, how close can you shoot the plate from? I'd like to be able to occasional bring it in close to 50yds and have it still resist the 55 gr. fmj's.
Whether I pull the trigger or not I salute you on making from all appearances a great steel target solution for the budget conscience shooter.
I just got a 15" inch 5/8" thick AR500 steel gong from Quality Targets.
We made up a stand that hangs it at a down facing angle, and it was put out to about 85 yards, then it was shot 4 times with the M1 Garand, and though it didn't make any craters, it did leave some pock marks that removed about 1 1/2 16s of metal from the target.
From everything I saw in this thread I thought it only would have removed the white paint we painted it with. Is this normal?
Everyone, if you are shooting at any steel that has pock marks, etc. in it--please stop and replace it! I have seen a few accidents and experienced them myself from a ricochet and if you haven't after shooting some of the steel I see here--you need to buy a lotto ticket today.
All kidding aside, one fella had a disc(flattened) lead fly off and sliced a 3" gash in his neck. It missed his carotid artery by less than a mm--lucky man.
Myself, thank the lord for Oakley's.
I've got a couple Salute Products DOD target stands with EAG Tactical/10-8 shaped targets
Weren't the cheapest thing out there for sure but they work awesome and the stands diassemble without any tools quickly and fit in the trunk of a small car.
Here's an older thread with some discussion/pictures on AR500 vs AR600 and such for rifle use.
