Waiting for my Troy Aplha 15" rail. Should be here Thursday.
Today I took the FSB off and Gas tube, cut and Contoured the FSB, so that I can use it with the taper pins opposed to a set screw low profile.
Cut the Delta Ring, spring and clamp ring off.
Now I have to use some Black Magic Cold Blue on my modified FSB that I cut and shave down as a low profile gas block.
After Friday, I'll post a pick.
I'm also installing a DD 9.5" FSP on my 10.3 SBR which is ready to install. Waiting on my Brownells AR Upper and lower vise block to remover the barrel nut.
When installing the DD barrel nut. What kind of grease do you use on the threads?
    Thanks

Did you take any pics during the process? I'm thinking about dumping my MOE for a 13" Alpha. I could you use the extra reach. I was wondering how straight forward the project is to tackle.

Sorry but I didn't take any pics.
Its pretty simple. I can give you a link to a YouTube that shows you the same thing I did.
This first video shows how to cut off the Delta Ring. Fast Foward a little bit.

When I got home I when straight to my work bench to remove the Troy barrel nut, I used the Brownells vise block. I tried slowly to loosen up the nut but the unthinkable happened I tore the upper?.

I was being careful trying to loosen it up I even heated the barrel nut. When I installed the Troy barrel nut I only used 30 lb of torque.
