Well I guess I will be first to post:

In August of 2011 I went TDY to Guam, spent 4 months there and due to lack of transportation I picked up my attempts to improve my cardio. While on Island I logged 72.7 miles, and a loss of about 24 lbs. Since I returned to the states I have continued my cardio routines and logged about 57 miles. I use a great program call Map My Run and if you have a smart phone you can get it from the App Store or any of the markets. Its a great motivator and a good way to see hard results.

June 2011 I decided I was done with being overweight, (mildly put) and a type II diabetic.

I went from 267 pounds down to as of this morning 192 pounds. I went from a 5 mile bike ride kicking my but to being able to ride over 125 miles in about 8 1/2 hours. From a one mile walk, to walks of 10 miles and more.

No special doctors, pills, supplements or surgery needed. It was literally as simple as eat less, exercise more.

March 28th 2009 - Struck by car LOD.
April 15th 2010 - Hip surgery to repair 2 Labral tears and delamination
October 15th 2010 - Return to Full Duty

Post-Op I completed 4 months of Physical Therapy and lost more than 20lbs of fat gained over a year of reduced activity.

Since then I have Squated (freeweight, below parallel) 405 x 3, Ran a 5K in 28:30 and a 10K in 1:04:39. I have added muscle and strength and am pretty happy at 5-10/210/~12%.

Pretty tremendous recovery. 405 squat is my goal by the end of the year. Should hit it in about 5 months if I don't have to reset anything on the 5-3-1.

Keep them knee's out as you drive. When you start turning the knees in as you struggle you are grinding the knee joint. Cartilage won't appreciate that. Great effort on that set. Best effort when I was young and insane was 315 x 25.
