Very nice. Hopefully they'll have the 9mm available for a few more years.

Sic semper tyrannis.
Not much to look at, a parts-bin build on an Essex frame/slide kit that's been with me virtually every day of my adult life. It was built by a friend of a friend from my mom's company's gun-club, and back in the early 2000s he decided he HAD to have one of the "latest and greatest" of Glock's new introductions that year. His wife told him "if you want to buy one you have to sell one," so I basically got a hand-built (and when he found out I was going to be using it as my duty sidearm he threw in a pass at fine-tuning it) 1911 for the price of a Block. Funny, for all the dissing on parts-bin builds you hear around the Internet, I've handled factory-line 1911s that were inferior to this--that may be because of it becoming a one-off job though, since it's only natural to see extra care taken when the smith knows that someone they know personally's arse depends on the quality of their work.)
Other guns may come and go, but because this one is all I have to remember a young lady I once loved enough to sign a contract to if need be trade my life for hers by, it's truly a From My Cold Dead Hands matter.

Find what it is in life that you do not do well......and do not do that thing....
Dang, that is lovely. Is it an old Clackamas gun?
I have a buddy with one, and it's a great shooter, very reliable when lubed and maintained.
I so love a 1911 with honest holster wear, made with thousands of presentations.

Matt, I'm gonna need some specs on this bad Larry. I have a Springfield full rail in my junk drawer that needs some love and this is giving me some inspiration.
