Been carrying this Dan Wesson CCO a bit lately. I need to get new grips for it before I gouge up the stock ones, and I prefer VZ grips for carry on a 1911.

Won't be my birthday for another 3 days, but I thought what the hell I like me!
First 1911, and I'm in love. This gun is just beyond anything I've ever owned. I've lusted over it for about a year, and finally found one at a LGS today. The front strap checkering after 200 rounds was killing my hand tho.

Got this heap, instead of a SA TRP Operator.
Not sure whether to coat it, or just beat the hell out of it to get rid of the shiny. Either way, that's gotta go, and I need to look into a decent magwell...at least a Chen mainspring housing....more research.
....but all that's probably gonna wait for at least 2k rounds.

Either way, it's a nice gun. Some cerakote, a Chen mainspring housing...it'll be a great piece.

Great base to do pretty much anything you want to with. Ionbond would look really good and is durable finish. A nice magwell, good trigger, maybe an extended mag release, and a good set of sights are all you need on that one..Ooooh, I did something foolish, today....
