Joe Scuba,I want to built a clone like yours that you used to carry on duty.
whats the patch on the left?
Dont sweat the small stuff.
If youre not taking fire, its all small stuff.
The patch on the left is my first combat patch/ssi (shoulder sleeve insignia). It is from Operation Urgent Furry/Grenada. It is the old U.S. Army Special Operations Command patch from 1983. We only used that patch for a few years. Then we switched to the one on the right. I liked the old one better. My wife takes the photos and uses some of my old items for enhancement. We only have a very low budget HP E317 camera. but I think she does a great job with what we have.
Cheers.

Thanks. I've been attempting to obtain/collect the type weapons I used on activity duty. Its not very fancy. The hardest part was finding the GI Ithaca frame.
Some of the later pistols used Caspian frames. Its a combat pistol, built for reliability. However its accurate enough was a serious social occassion. I updated the grips. My pistol just came with modified G.I. plastic grips. The left pannel was recessed near the mag catch.
Cheers

I knew I had seen it before, but couldnt remember where. After your explanation, I recall that an old platoon sgt of mine wore one for a combat patch, the dude had a different combat patch for every day of the week. We all suspected he had been in CAG, but of course he dismissed it as foolishness.

Here are a couple that have been on my bench this past week.
The first one, A Colt, was built by Steve Morrison of MARS Armament, I believe.
I changed out the rear sight, added some golfballing, added the
front slide serrations, installed the Dawson rail and refinished it with Cerakote.
The second one is a Dan Wesson and I don't know it's pedigree. I high cut the
frontstrap, did some work on the slide, added my Tier One sights etc.
