Chuck, can you give some more specs and pics on the long slide. That's nice work.

AMT Longslide 7" barrel. West Covina, CA.
Stainless steel with a well known galling problem. Few ever ran well for long.

This one was customized years ago by Nelson Ford www.thegunsmith.com
    Excellent smith in N. PHX.
Frontstrap checkering, ambi safeties, beavertail, awesome trigger job, etc.

Continued galling problems even with generous tolerance fits.
I don't know what type of lube was used.

Anyways I agreed to Cerakote it.
Plan was to put it on thick.....
I had some Cerakote that was a bit older and thicker due to age.
I 'staged' the coats at 30 minute intervals for best results.
Concentrated on the frame to slide and barrel bushing fits.

    It's running great!
I don't know how long it will last but I suspect more than long enough.
It's not the type of gat you run 500rds through weekly.
But it sure is fun to shoot.

I should add that the lanyard isn't just for looks.
The owner runs around in rough country in the Bradshaws
and he just might be toting this in a chest rig (tanker holster)
    on his quad.

Hey Chuck, would meloniting the frame and/or slide help with galling?
