I used to feel the same way until I was educated. A 1911 with a safety is arguably safer then a striker fired gun in appendix carry.

EGW angle bore bushing and spring plug
10-8 rear sight
Night sight front
Caspian trigger
EGW grip safety
EGW sear, Wilson disco and hammer, Colt sear spring
Ed Brown tactical safety
Ball cuts
Carry cuts
Bobtail
Large magwell bevel
Small parts painted in graphite black
Frame and slide is a mix of burnt bronze and graphite black

This is the last build we are doing on Remsport frames and slides. We have our own brand of frames made for us by Jem Enterprises now. Much more consistent.

Maddy 345 explain or show a picture of how you sit down with that appendix rig on? They look like a good idea on thin guys standing up but can not see how it can work at all sitting down or if you have any gut at all

If you have any gut at all AIWB won't work. As far as sitting the holster isn't deep enough to cause any discomfort.

As far as AIWB with a 1911, it is far safer than with a striker fired gun.
