The first 1911 I have bought for myself in two decades, a Guncrafter Industries Model 1 (special). I ordered it “bare” so I could have my way with it. Also with two barrels so I could make a compensator for one. The .50 GI cartridge is not a high-speed, high intensity round so for the comp to work I figured max volume and make blast face area would be beneficial.
Pretty sick Ned. I like it.
Bought a new Baer TRS last week. Fit a Wilson 6BNBP thumb safety. Feels much better, and I think overall engagement of the sear is better than the stock part. Not pictured, a WC BP mag release installed after the pic and a 10-8 rear sight to be fitted tomorrow.
Love it!

Thanks. And I can't wait to see what your Pony looks like after it gets back from Jim. It was already very nice, and I'm a sucker for french borders anyway. I would have gone the same route, but Jim closed his books for the summer and I had money burning in my pocket. Next time.
