Was looking for some opinions on Snap On Tools. I have needed to upgrade to a quality torque wrench for my MRP's, MWS and now SCAR (how they ship a 3k rifle with no wrench amazes me but whatever) for a while so I had my mechanic grab one for me.
He grabbed me a Snap On (pictured below) that looks to be a well made tool and should serve my purpose just fine... I know nothing about tools and what is good vs bad (other than knowing the one they send from LMT is a cheapo) etc.
I grabbed it today and it is a $280 wrench. Now, I never buy cheap and have no problem paying for quality but $280 seems like a lot of cash for a wrench... He told me that Snap On is very good stuff, high quality and should last a lifetime.
Is this about right for a quality torque wrench? Are there better companies out there that would serve my purpose better? If this is market then I have no problem paying the price, but I honestly don't know enough about tools to know wether I am being ripped off, or its just a simple case of buy once... I do like the smaller size of it vs some of the others I have seen. He said its no problem to return or get something else if I want...
Just looking for some input from those who know about tools for this application.
