Anyone on the carrier? I can post more pictures if need a specific angle.

    You guys are awesome!
By the way I'm new here, just let me know what I can do to make things better.
I am nearly 100% sure it is an LMT bolt. I need to see the gas key (top of it) in order to tell if it is an LMT or not.

That is an LMT. It would appear to be an older LMT BC as it does not have their new MIM gas key on it.

So it appears that you have an all LMT BCG (not a Colt). So if you thought you bought a Colt, the person lied to you or was a moron.

I'm about to give this DoucheBag a BIG FAT NEGATIVE. Where do I start?

Should I start up a new thread in the right forum or continue with this existing thread? Should I get a moderator involved?

    BCG Markings

My 6920 has the BCG marked "C". It was an earlier 6920 issued with the larger pins purchased in 2007 I believe. Or 2008. Anyway it was right before they switched to putting the smaller pins in the lowers.

I found this one day on another forum:

    http://www.fedspending.org/fpds/fpds...=fpds&detail=2

    Bolt supplier marks:

    MPC - Colt
    MPD - Diemaco
    MPF - FNMI
    MPN - Bushmaster
    MPE - Advanced Ordnance Corp
    CM - CMT

    Carrier supplier marks:

    C - Colt
    stylized D - Diemaco
    F, FN - FNMI
    “Y” in a circle = Olympic Arms
    BCM = Bravo Company
    D - Amateec Arms
    TC - Toolcraft (DPMS, Bushmaster)
    CM - CMT
    A - Advanced Ordnance Corp
Shield and SE - Smith Enterprises
M - Smith Enterprises (Marine Corp)
    N - Smith Enterprises (Navy)
J - Smith Enterprise for JC manufacturing
TM in a circle - Young Machine

Colt rifles ship with full-auto bolt carriers? Nobody nervous about potential legal liability?

A full auto bolt carrier does not an automatic weapon make. The FCG makes an AR15 an automatic weapon.

Not at all. Long since resolved, the auto carriers are now standard in the better manufacturers. Heck, you can even find them in the good-as guns too.

Hopefully, we will one day simply refer to them as bolt carriers without the distinction, accepting that the currently named FA/M16 carrier is the standard.

Much like referring to magazines as standard capacity now, instead of high capacity. There's no more legal issues, and no further need for distinction except those that deviate.

Of course not. Why? Because it does not make your gun FA.

Just as an FYI, the MAJORITY of quality AR manufacturers ship with a FA BCG. This is commonly referred to as a "Clue" that it is legal.
