Interordnance AKs over-gassed?
Yes, I know they're crap rifles. The one in question isn't mine, it's one my girlfriend bought at a gun show when I wasn't around.
It had feeding, accuracy and cycling issues from day one and it had a LOT more recoil than 7.62x39 AKs I've shot in the past. I chalked it up to lousy craftsmanship and sent it back to IO for repair. They sent me a completely new rifle back, and it worked properly, but the sharp, jarring recoil was still there. Is this a "thing" with them? Will a heavier spring and/or buffer help?

Most AK's are over gassed. National production rifles deal with this by having a vented gas block or vented piston tube. In the US, some guys run both. Try a vented piston tube.
