Brownells has Winchester 9mm NATO M882 in M2A1 cans for $199.99. When you order 2 and use code VAV you end up paying $369.98 total, with free shipping. That works out to $184.99 per 1,000 rounds already packed in a .50 cal ammo can for storage. $9.24 per box of 50 rounds, or .18 cents a round. Quite a deal.

    Sales tactic or truth?

Got the following from bone frog, online retailer I've bought from before. Note this key phrase: "...but eventually we anticipate all 50 round LE boxes will be restricted."

Can anyone confirm? Even other rumors? Full statement below

    Hollow Point Ammunition (LE Restrictions)
50 round boxes of LE marketed ammunition has always been intended for Law Enforcement; 20 round boxes are available for standard retail purchasers. The manufacturers are getting stricter on these guidelines as it pertains to online sales, thus we have been asked to abide by indicating this on these product pages and asking customers to register with us in order to purchase these products. Currently we are required to restrict the purchase of 124 grain products, but eventually we anticipate all 50 round LE boxes will be restricted.

What a load of horse pucky. I think its because it is getting harder to get HST and LE Bonded ammo from their distributers in 50 round boxes. Ammo being sent to Federal LE agencies come in White boxes in ammo cans. I see it all the time.
