Far fron and far rear, for now.

The front position is a compromise between my ability to use the VFG/Light with unimpeded access to the magazine.

The rear position is a compromise in relation to the front mounting method to keep the correct orientation of the primary during a transition to sidearm and the method of transitioning that I prefer, while maintaining the correct weapon position when hands-free.

I may pull the sling attachment point back though.

Still perfecting this one since my conversion to 2-points a few years ago.

Robb, mine will wind up looking like yours after I get the rear mount from Grant. For now I'm using the VLTOR attachment:

When possible, I run my VCAS slings in a near/far set-up. My shotguns (due to their nature) are set up in a far/near manner. My main issue with having the sling attached near the rear of the receiver (rifle and shotgun) is that the sling seems to get in my way and become a distraction when using the gun. Having the sling at the rear of the stock eliminates this for me

Far and Far, similar to others but I run the rear sling mount on the contralateral side to allow weak side shooting with out choking myself out.

Setup similar to an AK with a sidefolding stock.

Do you drop your support arm out of the sling when you transition shoulders?

No - I run the sling a little loose than most I'd imagine, which allows me to transition pretty effortlessly if needed to the other side.

According to the poll looks like everything but

    Far front and close rear

    are viable options.

I'm reviving this thread because I find this interesting and I have a question. I am wondering how people with 16" or longer barrels are running their sling? Thanks!
