Sear Reset?

I am constantly hearing the term "Sear Reset" when someone is describing "Trigger Reset". Isn't the Sear already in position once the pistol is fired and the and the sound (click) sometimes heard is the trigger bar is simply reconnecting?

The sear is, by definition, the part that keeps the hammer or striker cocked.
