My first custom and OTF auto...

    These knives are bada--!

The fixed is thick and sharp. I'll be getting a custom sheath from a member here, so that I can edc it.

The Scarab shoots out like lightning and is razor sharp.

Been looking for a review of the newer model Scarab from Microtech. How is the lock-up? Is the blade loose at all when deployed?

I tried one 2 years ago vs. my Scarab from approx. 5 years ago and the 2 year ago model was not near as solid as the older model.

    Thank you.

P.S. Those are very nice looking knives.

Very nice. What or who made the custom fixed blade. I was looking at the MT offs I don't know if I can do a 1000 knife. I need the money to purchase more tools from Victor.

Lockup is pretty good. Of course not as tight as a good BM or ZT.

Maker of the fixed blade is Liontribe Designs. MT has quite a good LE program, so pricing wasn't outrageous.

About the only way you're going to get an OTF to lock up like a folder is to get a Combat Talon, Exodus, or Nemesis. They lock up in a similar fashion to a liner lock. They also kick a bit more on opening since they're Single Actions. Halos are nice too.

Yeah, the blade play isn't an issue. I don't intend on using it for a shtf knife. It'll probably get regular use and God forbid, a last ditch shank.

Now the fixed blade is a different story. It be used for shtf!

I'll have to look up those knives mentioned though.
