    my new Colt LE6920

Got another colt from Cheaper than dirt and have a few concerns.

    First I love my 6920's.

But this one had some strange stuff

The bolt carrier in the rear had what appears to be a reddish tinge of rust on it. (will post pics when I get to my computer at home)

The grip screw was 1/2 inch longer than spec. I noticed when I went to remove the stock grip it took no effort. Took it off put on the barely fitting BCM mod 0, and if I tightened it down the selector switch wouldn't budge. If I backed the screw out the grip was loose, but the selector switch would work.

Finally measured it and the screw was 1/2 inch longer than any grip screw I have ever seen.

So has anyone else seen this lately in the bolt or the grip screw? Also the roll pin for the trigger guard won't budge have to take it to someone to figure it out. But it won't move with a 1/8 or 3/32 roll pin punch with me hammering away. No movement at all.

My main concern is the bolt. Again sorry, I will post pics as soon as I get home. Also this gun was filthy. Not 5 rounds filthy but like 200+ wolf rounds filthy. I had to bore foam 2 times and went thru like 50 patches (1 hour!) before they came out only slightly dirty.

Just confused as my other one came out oiled up but not grimy and looking rusty.

Post a picture, because we are all sitting here guessing as to your rust issue.

Did the BCM grip come with a grip screw?

Trigger guard roll pins are typically very tight from Colt, soak it in kroil, brace it, then use the right punch to get it out.

Yes it did. And I ended up using it.

But for comparison I took out the one from my other 6920 and it was 1/2 inch longer. The BCM one was the same length as the other 6920.

I apologize I will get the pic of the potentially rusted bolt by 16:30 EST. I don't have the rifle with me. I will try some kroil for for the tg pin.

I bought it from Cheaperthandirt. It was 990 and advertised as new.

Honestly, I don't trust anything about CTD.

With that said, I must take apart a 6920 every other day of the week (I mean EVERYTHING out of the gun). I have never seen one that looked like it had been shot for 200rds. The reason for this is because Colt cleans the components before they ship them. So something isn't right here.

I really hope that isn't the case, as CTD has awful CS....

I should have spent the extra 60 and bought from you.... buy once cry once.

Well I am not saying that (as there are other quality companies out there selling Colt's), but knowing what I know, the gun shouldn't look like someone did 5-7 mag dumps through it. On top of that, you shouldn't see any signs of rust (clue).

Per the TDP, your bolt (in your A2 grip) should have 1.125 of thread.
