That is an informative thread. The discussion as to why so much blow back in the Tavor, besides being a long piston stroke system, seems to be the type of suppressor used. Some are finding it isn't bad, and others the opposite. The comments will keep coming for a while, so hopefully we will get some concrete/specific factual info.

I think the pictures with the Tavor indicate the gun was pretty well oiled up. I've seen other photos, with other guys guns suppressed, and they are not near as dirty. Nor were their faces. Maybe just worse in factory new guns?

So has anyone figured out what the price will be on the LH/RH bolts?

EDIT: Several other reports indicate other suppressors working well with the rifle.
Suppressed self loading rifles have gas blowback. It is a known fact. My 16 inch SCAR-16 with AAC m4-2000 (51T 2008 model) has far more gas blowback than my ARs with both 10.5 inch LMT upper and 16 inch carbine upper. Even my mp5k-pdw and fullsize UZI have it to some degree, albeit less in the UZI. It is very dependent on the amount of back pressure generated by the can and the operating system. The Tavor's gas port looks pretty close to the chamber, which could result in a higher volume of gas blowback with a suppressor attached. I have found it to be worse when running guns really wet with lube, though I do run all my guns very wet.

Handled one briefly today in my random "laugh-by", I mean drive-by of the LGS. They had an FDE Tavor for $2799. (tried hard not to laugh)

Felt solid as a rock and the action was smooth while cycling it. BUIS were pretty basic. Wasn't able to dry fire it at all. Safety switch seemed to have a pretty long throw, but I'm probably spoiled by my SCARs and 60 Noveske safeties on my ARs.

Have to ask: Is there a way to swap the CH over to the right side and move the rail on the right side to the left side?

Yes. The CH swap is pretty involved but can be accomplished in about 15 minutes. You will need a couple roll pin punches too.
