IWI discontinued the Tavor IDF model which worked out pretty well for me because that's the one I have.

In all honesty I think that's a good deal considering the alternative, a 9mm Steyr AUG conversion kit would cost that much alone. I have HK MP5's myself so I didn't want to get into such a kit but I can see the draw of having a bullpup 9mm.

Makes you wonder why they're now selling for such a low price.
FYI that's the 9mm version. IMHO rifle cartridges are where this platform shines. You can take advantage of the fact that it's a 16" barrel in a compact OAL package that still fires high-velocity rifle rounds. I love this system with rifle cartridges and considered getting a 9mm conversion kit for mine early on when Rat Worx came out with the 9mm integral suppressor for them. I realized that I wouldn't want to swap back and forth so I debated getting yet another Tavor as a dedicated 9mm to run that suppressor on after SBRing it. In the end, I realized I would have a heavier and more cumbersome package than any other system on the market (save for an AR15 9mm setup) designed to shoot handgun cartridges so.... what's the point? Sure it was cool but not that cool. In the end I'm glad I didn't go that route and I'm still not sure why people would want a heavy & long rifle for shooting handgun cartridges. IMO it just doesn't make any sense even if it's for "familiarity" or "cost of ammo" but that's just me. I don't see why anyone would want to send a 9mm cartridge down a 16" barrel or the added weight and size this system packs to fire something that could be just as easily fired out of a Glock with nearly the same ballistics. Not hating, just being realistic. If you want to collect it just to add to your collection then fine, go right ahead. If it's something you plan to get use out of you can do much better IMO.

Yes I realize that it's a 9mm. The overall cost to manufacture should be pretty much the same, so my guess is that the 9mm Tavors simply are not selling well. For me it's a collecting thing. I have an IDF Tavor, an X95 and now this 9mm Tavor. One thing to remember about the weight is that it's more back towards the shoulder, so the perceived weight is less.

I've got a few Tavors and run them suppressed as well so I can certainly appreciate the balance aspect. That's why I love these systems in fact is the OAL & balance coupled with the ballistics from the 5.56 or Blackout rounds. Just awesome systems. For me I just don't get the same ROI on the 9mm versions of the same platform. I also am the same way about AR15's though so I'm probably the wrong guy to ask about handgun cartridges in rifles because IMO you can do better. So I'm not saying this exclusive to the Tavor platform but yeah, the balance is certainly killer on all the platforms. For handgun cartridges I still prefer a system that was designed from the beginning around that cartridge since it tends to be more balanced and compact. But I too am a collector and could see buying it at this price point just to have all of the things.

Does the X95 have an adjustable gas block? What is your supressor set up for the Tavor or X95?

No adjustable gas block on the X95. I have mine set up for left handed use and run an AAC M4 2K on it. Its a tad gassy but so far has been 100% reliable.
