Do the build kits have the gas ports pre-drilled? Can't tell from the photos.

Do you have anything shorter than a 14.7"?

And you show a "Whisper" suppressor attachment available, but the listing on your website for the "Whisper" does not list a 458 compatible "Whisper" suppressor.

    IZ,
    Yes, gas ports are drilled.

    Chadbag,
The shortest .458 SOCOM barrel we have is the 14.7". We have had some requests for a shorter set up, and we will look at that in the future, but right now, and for the "near future", this is what we have....regarding the break, we are working on a .458 version of our Whisper Suppressor, but its not ready to be released. The Whisper mount is also a very effective muzzle break.

This would be one of those instances where I want something just because.

I was thinking about starting another SPR build but I think this just pushed me towards a big bore upper. I think I have a phone call to make in the near future for a new upper and a hog hunt to arrange shortly after that.

I'm a bit slack jawed over the sheer size of the hogs that have been taken with this rifle/cartridge combination as per the photo array at the bottom of the page. I have friends in Texas who have invited me to hog hunt, I have to get down there one of these days.

Do you need the specialized upper receiver or will the build kit work on any AR upper?

458 SOCOM has me very interested as its a legal deer round in Indiana.

You need to slightly open the ejection port. We have them already modified ......
