brought the zastava pap ak home today

Solid as a rock. Reminds me of a couple milled bulgarians ive had. It does need the correct doublestack bolt. Century opened up the magwell but left the singlestack bolt. Also need a traditional dust cover. Anyone have either part lmk please.

Do these have their bayonet lug shaved off? I can't tell in most pictures.

Do these have magwells opened up here, like WASRs?

Those dust cover rails bother me.

I really like these Zastavas. Great looking wood furniture, NATO length stock with a rubber buttpad, and the rail on top would be great for a Micro red dot. It's not going to hold a zero at a distance, but for closer-in, it seems like a decent setup.

Have you shot yours yet? What does the feed ramp look like? I've seen several that have a ledge in front of the chamber that is not on any other AKs I've seen. I think it's a remnant from the conversion from single- to double-stack mags.

    no cl bbl

i shot it a couple weeks ago. i brought 280 rds loaded up in the 30rd mags it came with, another 30, and the rest were rommy 40's. on one of the fully loaded 30's, i had a failure to strip the top round. pulled 1 or 2 and the rest fed fine. no other failures of any kind, and i was hammering that bitch. cooked the shiny black finish down to ashen grey in a couple spots
(this was an indoor range so longer range accuracy testing will have to wait. maybe when i finish my noveske build i'll bring them both to an outdoor range with 50, 100+ yard targets)
the 30s that came with it fit too tight for fast mag changes. i might sell them and get a couple more rommy 40's
