What weight motor oil for lube??

Hey guys if this has already been asked I am sorry but I could not find it anywhere while searching. I know that lots of you guys are using Mobil One Full Synthetic motor oil as gun lube for your ARs. I know that LAV and a few other guys whose opinions I respect use this method but I have not seen what weight you guys prefer i.e. 5/30, 10/30, 10/40, 20/50, etc. I am almost out of the gallon of LSA I purchased a couple years ago and the prices for the better lubes such as EWL, froglube, etc are crazy. I would really appreciate any help. Does motor oil provide decent rust prevention?
Also would motor oil be OK to use on Glocks and Remington 870s which are my other 2 duty weapons. Thanks guys.

Depends how warm your area is. I've used 5/30 and 10/30. 10 stays a little better. But in the cool months 5 flows a little better.

Took me more time to post the links to the 4 searches than it did to initiate and conduct those searches...
