thanks for the info, if I could get it I would use IMR 8208 for heavies or 322 IF I could get it , I can get 2230,335 from some one local just wanted to know if any one has played around with those 2 with heavy bullets, just looking to shoot and had 77 grains in my stash as well as 55's had been using TAC till the drought happened. just trying to use what's available locally

Haven't had the chance to mess with 2230 and heavy bullets. Seems it would be better out of a shorter barrel though.

For the bullet weight he's shooting, I'd pass on Varget. There was a guy on another forum who was doing some barrel treatment/finish testing for a manufacturer.
He found that the light bullets when combined with relatively slow burning powder really erroded the gas port bad. As early as 1700 rounds, he could see damage in the Xrays of the barrel.... where as it was closer to 10k rounds on appropriate bullet/powder combos.
