    Thats sick.
Leupold mk8? or USO? Curious as to what other 1-8s are floating around out there.
    Congrats on the build btw.

    That's a great looking gun...

One question - why did you choose to go through the pain and cost of an M14 project when you can get 7.62 SCARs and MR762s?

Soft spot is good enough! An early-90s Springfield was my first semi-auto rifle - that one will got to my grave with me.

I also had a Troy SPOMOD for a couple years and sold it. It was just a tank.

I had Smith Enterprises build one similar to yours on a Polytech receiver. Nice little gun - I should have gone with a lighter barrel which would make it easier to bring on target. Not as lively in the hands as a standard weight M14 barrel. ETA: the CQB barrels is what I should have got when I did mine but they weren't available then...

got her home, shot it yesterday. only about 100 rounds. absolutely LOVE it

standing offhand shots at 400 yard full E were almost on command with winds compliance. Cannot say enough good things about the guys at SEI, i have a 308 can coming now from them.

if you have a M1a, having smith do their magic on it is worth every penny.
